[Last amended: July 18, 2003]
Frances Ann Barnett, or Fanny as she was known, was the first child born to William Barnett and Ann Matthews. She was born on August 23, 1826 in Hambleden, Buckinghamshire. She was baptised in the parish church on October 24, 1826 and the parish register against her baptism stated that her father was a famer of Rockwell End.
Fanny was listed in the 1841 census as a 14 year old living with her parents at Saunderton Grange, Saunderton, Bucks. When the 1861 census was taken she was visiting her father's younger brother, Joseph, at Common Barn Farm, Horseshoe Common, Remenham. Her age appears as 31, she was unmarried and had no occupation.
Fanny married a widower, Henry Jeanneret, on November 13, 1874 at Abbey Church, Great Malvern, Worchester. Henry was an interesting character and it is well worth reading of his life.
