2.4.4.2.2 Lelia "Jim" Barnett
[Last amended: April 26, 2004]
Lelia Barnett was the second and last child of Francis O "Frank" Barnett and Lucinda Hartman. She was born on May 30, 1895 in Ohio. She was known as Jim.
Jim married Orton Hobart Jones on October 18, 1918.
Orton had been born on September 11, 1896 in Custar, Ohio. He served in World War I, rising to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and received an honorable discharge on January 13, 1919. He was a captain in the National Guard in 1925 according to the US Military Records of that year.
In 1920, Jim and Orton were living in Plain, Wood Co, Ohio. Orton was a civil engineer attached to the court house. By 1930 they had moved to Bowling Green, Wood Co. Orton and Lelia were both listed as 33 years old and their son, Barnett F, was 9. Orton was a civil engineer employed by the county.
Jim and Orton only had one child, a son Frank Barnett Jones, although it would appear that he was known as Barnett if the 1930 census is any guide. Barnett predeceased his parents, dying in 1960, aged 39.
Jim died on May 3, 1972, aged 76.
