2.4.4.1.5.5 Mary Esther Barnes

Mary Esther Barnes was the fifth child and youngest daughter of Myrtle Pollock and Rolland Emerson Barnes. She was born on September 15, 1917 in Lucas Co, Ohio.

In 1930, according to the US census, Mary was still at school. Her name was listed as Esther and it appears that that is how she was known as references in later documents use the name Esther rather than Mary.

Esther's first marriage was to Glen Eckley. He was the son of Edward and Loretta Eckley, born on July 4, 1911 in Ohio. His family had been living at Swan Creek in Fulton Co at the time of the 1930 census. In 1930, Glen was unemployed. Glen died on May 30, 1944. Their son, Glen Edward Eckley, was born in the September after his father's death.

Esther then married James Sidney Foster. James was the son of Lendrum Foster and Nannie Snell and he was born in Cleveland, OH. He was a horiculturalist and landscape architect all his life. He owned a nursery business and held a Master of Horticulture. Esther and James had two children:
