Fern Turpin was the third child born to Elsie Gladys Marguerite Hobbs and Charles Marcus Turpin. She was born on June 14, 1915 in West Jordan, Salt Lake Co, Utah.

Fern is listed on the 1920 as a child of 4 11/12 (that census was taken in January) and as a 15 year old (April 18, 1930) with no occupation living with her mother and siblings in California in 1930.

Fern did not marry and died in Los Angeles, California, on June 14, 1939, her 24th birthday.
